Ayça Akay Özden graduated from the Department of Architecture at Bilkent University in 2016. She completed her master’s degree at the Department of Architecture at Middle East Technical University (METU) with her thesis titled Understanding the Concept of Space in Cinema: Re-reading Stanley Kubrick Exhibitions. Throughout her architectural education, she developed herself in various fields of art by taking courses in sculpture, anatomical drawing, ceramics, and photography, in addition to architecture and design. In her professional career, she has worked on projects of various scales across the fields of art, design and architecture. She gained experience in architectural representation, exhibition design and coordination. At RMJM Istanbul, she was involved in the design and presentation of diverse projects, including cultural, residential, office, and commercial developments. She was responsible for the architectural design, construction, and project coordination of the Stanley Kubrick Exhibition, organized in collaboration with Warner Bros., the Stanley Kubrick Estate, the University of the Arts London, and the Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum. Most recently, she was the curatorial assistant for the exhibition the Journey of the Line. Her areas of expertise include architectural design, modes of architectural representation, visual communication, and painting.
